Elephants on Parade
I like this video because you can hear all of our excitement. Can you tell I love the baby ones?
Animals, Animals Everywhere!
Krueger Park is not like a zoo. I just want to point out that you can drive for hours and not see animals. We were very lucky at how many we saw and such variety. But we also spent HOURS in the car, waking up to be out the gates looking for animals at 5 am (that's Levin's idea, not mine.) But Levin's early rising paid off and we saw a leopard! Leopards are very rare! And hard to see. But one was just sitting on the side of the road, crossed in front of us, and kind of hovered on the other side of the road. Last time (Dec 2007) Levin and I saw no rhinos either, but this time we are proud to say we saw all of the Big 5 and didn't even have to pay a single guide to point them out or find them, we found them on our own.
This video Levin calls, "the grandaddy of them all" and it may be his most prized posession.
South African Adventure
Yesterday morning we arrived back in Nigeria. Happy to be home and have the comforts like Leah's high chair and her real crib, but sad to leave our awesome time in South Africa.
Our internet is giving us problems (again.) I must have praised it. We have a rule . . . never praise the internet or anything else in Nigeria because it is a curse. I praise that we have had water pressure for quite a while and the next day . . . gone. I praise that nothing has broken in the house for a long time . . . the next day . . . the house is falling apart. The biggest offender is the internet. Any tiny praise we give and it is gone. To counteract my praise I will say, I am sure the internet will never hold out for me to post pictures!
Anyway, I want to write and post pictures of our fun time in South AFrica, but it may be slow in coming thanks to the internet. Plus, I have my in-laws here and I am then leaving home for another 2 weeks so . . . . let's hope we get this done.
