Kids in February

Can you tell I'm behind and just dumping our pictures - it is for posterity right?  These are in all kinds of random order.

 He has these two stuffed toys with him almost constantly.  I hear him saying 5-4-3-2-1 Blast off! a lot, but he also says a bunch of other excited jibberish I can't understand when he is playing with them.

 Leah is the sweetest sick girl you could ever imagine.  It takes all her sass out and she turns into an angel.

 Autumn loved this thing the first two times - not so much later.  Here she is feeding herself a strawberry.

 Autumn after church.  What a sweetie!  I am so blessed that so many people love to hold her so I can usually put all my energy into keeping Oliver in sacrament meeting.

 Right before Family Home Evening?  Can you tell Levin is a tired bishop and agricultural diplomat.  I don't have time to explain about Kazakstan and their issues that he's been dealing with.  They wear a man out.

 Leah in her ballet clothes.  We'd already been to ballet and she hadn't changed and before we could start Family Home Evening she wanted to look pretty and asked if I'd put her hair in two balls.

 Leah took off running to bed.  Can you believe running to bed?  I think it was that I told her she could sleep in my bed.  She tripped and hit the wall and had an instantaneous goose egg on her head.  It hasn't changed her charge and go personality and by the next day was much better and all gone (I think) by the following day with just a tint of blue.

More Autumn

Birthday Party

Leah has at times been obsessed with her friend Alexis.  She has been obsessed with birthdays for well over a year.  So imagine her excitement for Alexis's birthday party!  I let Leah help me pick out presents for Alexis on Amazon well before the party so it would be here in time.  So I had a long time of saying, "but don't tell Alexis we got her La La Loopsey."  Leah is good at keeping secrets.  It was a fairy garden party and oh so much fun.  I think we got more pictures than Leah's birthday, but hey, I wasn't in charge so I had more time to take pictures.

Pinterest Mom

On Tues-Thurs morning we go to the Dunson family's house for a little "mommy school."  Miss Donna does all the teaching and I am there . . yeah.  Anyway, one afternoon Leah comes to me and says we need to play mommy school so first we'll play, then we'll have circle time and then activities.  So when it was time for activities I pulled out my Pinterest ideas and we finger painted with little cars.  It was a hit!

 Leah begged for more . . so . . we put pipe cleaners through a colander, something else I'd seen on Pinterest.

Some of the pipe cleaners ended up stuck in play dough. 

 We also did spaghetti stuck in play dough and you put Cheerios on it.  Pinterest idea!  They liked that too!

 Not this day, but some where near there I sewed some clothes.  I don't have a picture of Autumn in hers, but she has a dress that matches Leah's shirt and a purple diaper cover.  The shorts above I made when I wasn't too impressed with the skirt below.  The free pattern came from Pinterest.  Leah is holding onto the elastic.  I was making her try these on to know how much elastic to put in.  SHe loved her "tail" and was sad when I cut it off.

 I thought this skirt turned out too big even though it was technically impossible - there was no size restrictions, just elastic waist to make it fit.  Oh well. This was also a free pattern/tutorial found on Pinterest.
I felt like a pretty good Mom the night we did all our Pinterest-ing activities.  That is until dinner time came, Levin called saying he'd be late, and Donna stopped by and saw all my mess from the activities and the kids refusing to eat their dinner and so me eating alone (an ugly recipe that did not come from Pinterest) amid all the mess.  Maybe those Pinterest moms have messy houses.  Well except the ones that post all about their cleaning tips.  Maybe someday we'll have another Pinterest Mom day.

L and O in January

 Oliver inside Autumn's Jumperoo.  I bought this . . I don't know why, from another Mom.  But it has given more than one child some entertainment. :)

 They both looked at me so I didn't get it, but this is yet another picture of L and O watching TV together.  I don't know why, but I love how they set in the chair together and watch it.

 Leah out in the snow.  I took her out once while the other kids were napping.

 Can you say, "I need to be potty trained?"  After his diaper change he was sent down to throw the diaper away and get some new pants.

This is how he came back - with a shirt stuck on his head.  He is actually very good at dressing himself so I'm not sure what happened here.  He does also try to change his own diapers which has caused more than one mess.  But when you ask him to go potty he claims to not be a big boy, but a little boy or other such nonsense.  I am getting tired of two in diapers.  Hopefully some day . .

Autumn In January Pictures

Okay, I can't promise all of these were taken in January and I"m too lazy to go back and check, but here's some pics. :)

She started solid foods . . she hated them at first and made a lot of sour faces, but of course I never caught that on camera because . . . that's my luck.  The battery was dead, the camera was lost, and then I was too slow.

She loves the sweet potatoes.

I am a little worried about something - this girl puts EVERYTHING in her mouth.  I am not prepared for this.  My other kids didn't put anything in their mouth, especially Leah.  I mean like it was unnatural that she didn't put things in her mouth.  I was hand feeding her goldfish because she wouldn't put them in her mouth.  But not Autumn.  Everything goes in the mouth.

She was even chewing on this baby gym.  I got the camera too late to get her chewing on it, but you get the idea. 

 Here she is staring at her reflection.  I swear she did that for 10 minutes.

Me:  Leah you need to make going potty sound exciting for Oliver so that he'll want to go potty.
Leah:  Oliver!  (excitedly) When you go po . . po . . . . . Mom, it's really not that exciting to go potty.
